White-Glove Organizing Services for a Whole-House Renovation and Move in Boston

Wide shot of a luxury stove with beautiful countertops and accessories

You bought your dream home in Boston and you’re doing a whole-house renovation before you move in. You’re excited about what the home will become, but there are hundreds of decisions being made along the way.

You have an architect. You have an interior designer. You have a builder. Each is an expert in their part of the process.

But who is looking at the plans through the lens of how your family actually lives?

Grid + Glam is a Boston-based luxury professional organizing company specializing in whole-home organization and concierge move-in services. For clients completing major renovations, we work alongside architecture and interior design teams to bring organization, functionality, and your lifestyle into the planning process.

We review plans, think through how your belongings will live within the finished spaces, flag details that could affect how those spaces function, and help make sure important organizational considerations aren’t overlooked.

Then, as the renovation comes to an end, our professional organizing team manages the transition into your newly finished home. This includes pre-move editing and organization planning, managing a cleaning team, unpacking, and setting up the spaces so they are ready for you to live in.

We’ve supported families through luxury renovations and whole-home moves throughout Boston neighborhoods including Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and the South End, as well as surrounding communities including Wellesley, Newton, Dover, and other Boston suburbs.

Adding an Organization Lens to Your Boston Home Renovation

A whole-home renovation requires countless decisions. Your architect is thinking about the structure and flow of the home. Your interior designer is thinking about the overall design, materials, finishes, and furnishings.

We bring another perspective to the table: How will this home actually function once you live in it?

The earlier that Grid + Glam is brought into a renovation, the more opportunity we have to work alongside your existing team and consider the details that will eventually determine how the home functions for your family.

We learn how you live, what you own, what you use regularly, and what matters to you. Then we use that information as we review plans and collaborate with your architect and interior designer.

We aren’t replacing or managing your architecture or design team. We become an additional resource, helping connect decisions being made during the renovation to the realities of everyday life in the finished home.

For families undertaking extensive renovations in and throughout Greater Boston, this can be particularly valuable when custom cabinetry, closets, pantries, mudrooms, and other storage spaces are being designed from scratch.

Designing Your Home Around the Way You Actually Live

Once architectural plans begin to take shape, we can review them through an organizational and lifestyle lens.

We look closely at kitchens, pantries, closets, mudrooms, laundry rooms, garages, storage areas, and other highly functional spaces. We consider what will actually need to live there and whether the planned dimensions, cabinetry, shelving, and storage will support it.

Whenever appropriate, we can also inventory and measure the belongings that need to be accommodated so decisions are based on what you actually own rather than assumptions about what should fit.

These details matter.

Take a kitchen appliance garage. It may look perfect on a floor plan, but what appliances will actually live there? How tall is the blender? Will the stand mixer fit? Is the space deep enough? Can everything be accessed easily?

The same thinking applies to closets. Long-hanging garments require different dimensions than shirts. Boots require different clearance than flats. Handbags need shelving that works for their actual size. Drawers need enough height and depth for the items they are intended to hold.

A beautifully designed pantry can still be frustrating if the shelves aren’t deep enough for what your family buys. A gorgeous mudroom can become chaotic if there isn’t enough space for the number of shoes, bags, coats, and sports equipment that actually come through the door every day.

These are much easier problems to address while plans are being finalized than after cabinetry has been fabricated and the renovation is complete.

Working With Your Architect and Interior Designer

Our role is collaborative.

Grid + Glam works with your architect, interior designer, builder, and other members of your renovation team as needed to make sure the organizational and functional details of the home are being considered throughout the process.

We can review architectural plans, provide recommendations for storage and organization, communicate dimensions and requirements based on your belongings, and help identify potential gaps before they become expensive or inconvenient problems.

Because we are also thinking ahead to the move-in, we can begin planning how your belongings will transition into the finished home long before the first box arrives.

That continuity is one of the greatest benefits of involving a professional organizer during a whole-house renovation.

We understand what you own, how you live, and how the spaces have been designed. When it’s time to move in, we already have a plan for where everything belongs.

Luxury Move-In and Whole-Home Organizing Services

As construction wraps up, our role shifts from planning to implementation.

Our Boston-based professional organizing team can help you edit and organize your belongings before the move, plan organizational products and systems for the new home, and manage the organizing and unpacking portion of your move-in.

Once your belongings arrive, our team unpacks, organizes, labels, and sets up your home room by room.

The kitchen is functional. The pantry is organized. Closets are set up. Bathrooms are stocked. Everyday belongings are thoughtfully placed based on how your family actually uses them.

Instead of moving into a beautifully renovated home surrounded by boxes and spending the next several months figuring out where everything belongs, you arrive at a home that has already been cleaned and thoughtfully organized around the way you live.

Professional Organizing for Renovations in Boston and the Surrounding Suburbs

Whether you are renovating a Boston brownstone, a Beacon Hill townhouse, a Back Bay residence, or a larger home in Wellesley, Newton, or Dover, our role is the same: to make sure the finished home supports your belongings, routines, and lifestyle from the moment you move in.

Our Recommended Boston Design Partners

If you’re still assembling your renovation team, we’re happy to recommend professionals we trust.

For architecture, we highly recommend LDA. For interior design, we also recommend LeBlanc Design. Both bring an exceptional level of expertise to Boston-area residential projects.
